Caregiver Engagement

At Learning to Fly ABA, we prioritize family engagement because it is essential to creating an environment where our learners can thrive. Together, we work hand-in-hand with families to help every learner excel.

Caregiver Engagement can be paired with 1:1 ABA Sessions or a stand alone service.

Why is Caregiver Engagement Important?

Consistency Across Environments

When parents are engaged, the strategies used in sessions can be used at home during daily routines. This consistency reinforces learning and helps the learner generalize skills across different settings and people.

Collaborative Approach

Caregiver involvement leads to a collaborative environment and allows open communication between the family, therapist, and BCBA. This ensures everyone involved is working towards the same goals and that interventions effectively meet the learners needs.

Empowering Caregivers

Caregiver engagement gives families the tools and confidence to manage challenges outside of session as they arise. Through guidance, training and hands-on involvement, caregivers learn strategies to encourage positive behaviors and address difficult situations.

Improved Long-Term Outcomes

Active caregiver participation enhances long-term outcomes for learners by ensuring their development is supported beyond the duration of ABA services. Caregivers who are engaged and knowledgeable can continue to use effective strategies while promoting lasting independence for the learner.
